Some simple discrete transistor Op Amps

The problem with Op amp and other iC.-s models dev. is that you always miss to conduct a "critical test" . . . that , untill you make it and find out the next flaw . . . coz at the time you only need it to perform certain tasks at certain env. . . .

The first Amp -- it's quite old stuff . . .  is the only simulation i found and was able to set to work . . . reasonably near to what you'd expcect it should !?

 UPDATE ! -- extended supply - but it's likely a poor op amp compred to the number of transistors used for it
however -- now it !looks! quite decent up to gain 5x ??? ▼

Evaluating my CLM-s Transistor-/Component- Level models for LM321/358/324

Update : The predecessors of the  below - the internals of the LM324 equivalent circuits are irrelevant - the purpose here is to provide a multitude of random ways to make the models to show up their weak spots

®-lly oriented for +5(±2.5)V Vs (!Only) - now up to ±15V "verification"

TEST.1

TEST.2

Update.2 ::

TEST.3

TEST.4

Note : the Test.4 is slow ramping , pos.-feedback oscillator -- usually the very fast or very slow ramps do trigger instabilities in the voltage comparators and in some op amp.-s (notice , that the previous tests didn't reveal any serious "bugs" /!\) . . . here we got 3 failed (unstable) , 3 - poor (it's "unexpectedly") , 1 strange (a macro-) model ... and 1 decent simulation model (!!! but not an exact functional analog of the LM321)

some BJT dependencies -- the simualation vs. the d/s

the ß by Ic (has a very poor matching)

the saturation region of the collector (has a better matching)

Pos. fbk. Op. Amp. - (spice) noise

about LM324 , uA741 , TL071 , LM308 :

  compared to conventional biasing schemes :

the pos.-fbk scheme has more poor noise and frequency characteristics but it enables to use the feedback shoulder to excite a crystal or reduce the input current . . .

another inductance meter concept

a dummy sine generator :

Op Amp version :

the x = Δf( L( f ) ) = – 2 · Δf / ( (2π) ² · C · f ³ )

where Δf = f(40uH) - f(42uH)

the  y = ΔL( f ) = L(42µH) – L(40µH)

and the best match for the ΔL is a non-std. average E( x , y ) = 2 · x · y / ( x + y )

How tomeasure the inductance with a resistor , a coil and a square wave source

about
PS! note : the VLMAX and the IA are the max. V and I peak-values developing in the circuit at the run time
+ in the above simulation the formula does NOT account the internal resistance of the voltage source (which it should !!! (for the more accurate result))

CMOS Op Amp - simplified models

 arctan()/(π/2) versus tanh() ::

PS! :: this model was created for the fast retrieving of the effect and the response of the particular P-MOS input stage ... the output starts behaving weird near the rails !!!

which means the model cannot be used for conventional simulation purposes !!!

! Update ::

 the (simplified-inexact MCP601) model for conventional use (compared against the Ti-s LMV831) ::

? interestingly the Ti's model has a suspicious behaviour on the input exceeding the supply rails ???

? the P-Spice model of the LMV831 accounts the common mode range ending some 1V below the upper rail so it likely suits better the simulation that needs to take into account that limitation . . . my simplified MCP601 model is brought below ::
